People are like puzzle pieces. It takes the right person to inspire those pieces to come together.

I've had some amazingly unconventional career experiences that inform my success today.

To be specific, I cut my teeth working in retail and the hospitality industry. Those experiences helped me understand how to turn customer frowns into happy faces.

Eventually, I began working for nonprofits doing community development work. I gained a wealth of experience creating outreach programs. I even raised $3 million in thirty days during my first capital campaign.

Nonprofit work is what put me on the path of advocating for the needs of marginalized communities through the lens of writing and communications. For the past 10 years, I've had the pleasure of working with amazing startups and global organizations positively impacting science, technology, publishing, and open-source.
